About Seafarer Energy

Seafarer Energy is developing the first local fuel bunkering, small-scale LNG facility in North America. Our small-scale LNG facilities will liquefy natural gas for direct transfer to bunkering vessels. Seafarer’s distributed fueling network will offer shipping companies fast access to clean, efficient, low-cost LNG.

The local fueling Seafarer system will provide significant efficiency, low-cost and low-emissions advantages over current LNG bunkering which requires transshipment, with consequent evaporation loss and higher carbon emissions. Utilizing domestic natural gas supply for fueling at U.S. ports, as opposed to LNG export, enhances American energy security while reducing shipping costs and lowering prices for end consumers.

Seafarer combines the latest technology, robust engineering solutions and superior geographic location with an experienced team of energy professionals to create best-in-class clean fueling options for the shipping industry.

Seafarer Mid-Atlantic

The proposed Seafarer Mid-Atlantic facility will source plentiful Marcellus basin natural gas. The limited export options for the Marcellus basin create opportunities for competitive low-cost fueling for the foreseeable future. Low-cost LNG will not only enhance the economic case for LNG conversion for ocean-going vessels, but also incentivizes conversion for smaller classes of vessels.
